Learn
about recording & engineering
For
6+ years, Rhapsody has been accepting qualified interns
to work hard for free in exchange for access to excellent
learning opportunities. We have expanded our scope on
the new site to share information with those wishing to
know more info about recording at home, or in a fantastic
studio like ours. Occasionally, when demand insists, Mack
Damon teaches a 10 week class for $495. Click WORKSHOPS
to find out more about educational opportunities. There
is also a one-on-one opportunity available twice a year
for qualified students that costs substantially more.
A majority of clients have home recording gear, from Mboxes
and 001s to 8 track minidisc. Our HOME
STUDIO section offers tips on how to maximize your
gear investment, as well as how to prepare your source
material prior to bringing it to a Pro studio (ours).
We have worked with artists that will start a project
here, do overdubs at home, and bring it back to mix.
Insider View is another
breakthrough idea found nowhere else. On a bi-monthly
basis, we'll walk you through a recording project with
photos and in-depth notes from the session. What type
of mics did we use on the kit, and how did we use them?
What does a U87 sound like through a Neve 1073? We share
close-up photos of mic technique/selection, a list of
processing, and a 320kbs MP3 of the final mix for you
to evaluate. You get to see a session from the inside
out!
Our CONSTRUCTION page shows
how the studios were built and gives a quick primer on
studio design and construction. Thinking of building a
room? Start here, then give us a call......we can point
you in the right direction.
I WANT TO BE FAMOUS. I
get this statement/question so many times, I wrote a nice
article about it that's been linked over the net. See
MY original article here, and decide if you're ready to
make the cut. |
